MATERIALS NEEDED:
Color printer
White card stock paper
White printer paper. I prefer 28 pound white paper, for greater thickness
Clear Glue Sticks
Rolling pin
Scissors
Crayons
Colored Pencils
Markers
GLUING TO REINFORCE PAPER DOLLS:
Glue sticks are the easiest.
When using glue sticks, always apply a thin coat.
Before cutting out, glue each character sheet to a sheet of cardstock paper.
Place another sheet of paper on top of the character sheet, printed side up and roll out air pockets with a rolling pin.
Let dry and then cut out.
GLUING TO REINFORCE STANDS
For stands: Print on cardstock paper and glue to the back of the paper doll ⅛ inch from the bottom of the paper doll.
If you are printing on white printer paper, then for greater strength glue stands to cardstock.
Fold the stand on the red line. Glue to the back of the paper doll character 1/8 inch above the bottom of the doll.
DON’T HAVE CARDSTOCK PAPER? Try gluing the printed doll to poster paper or cardboard from something like an empty cereal box.
.
COLORING BLACK AND WHITE FASHIONS: Use crayon, colored pencils or markers.
PRINTING:
For best results, print the paper doll, characters and the stands on white cardstock.
If you’re not able to print on card stock, print on white printer paper, then glue to cardstock.
Print fashions and stories on regular white printer paper. I prefer 29 pound white paper for additional thickness.
If you don’t mind the price, printing on photo paper offers the best results, but is not necessary.
Do not print the fashions on photo paper.

LET’S CUT IT OUT
Do you know that scissor skills are important for more than cutting paper?
1. Using scissors builds fine motor skills. With the opening and closing motion of cutting, it allows children to develop the small muscles in their hands
2. Using scissors requires the child to use both the right and left hand at the same time. One hand does the cutting, while the other hand manipulates the paper. This is an essential skill children must learn
3. Helps develop hand eye coordination. This is developed when you use your hand and eyes together in unison, which is an important part of cutting.
LET’S COLOR
Do you know the benefits of coloring?
1. Children need hand strength and dexterity to use a pencil on paper.
Activities such as coloring pages will help them learn how to hold the writing tool the correct way, therefore, improving handwriting
2. When coloring, basic coordination skills such as the proper way to hold the crayon and deciding which color to use, can help your child in many different ways.
Coloring shapes requires the child to color within a specific area.
